Baseball season is fast approaching and it is now time to sign-up! We will begin our season on Sat., June 4th at 10am and will finish up our season on Mon., June 27th at 6pm with a game, BBQ and awards! Please come out and join us for another great season! It is time to sign up for BASEBALL!! Go to www.mapleton.org/parksandrecreation and then click on on-line registration. The fee will be $15.00 and will include a shirt and hat, pictures and trophy. We will have a BBQ and trophy ceremony after our last game. We are still trying to figure out the exact schedule and I will post it as soon as we have it finalized. So PLEASE sign up as soon as possible so we can start to get our teams put together!

VIP T-BALL & COACH PITCH

Join us for another season of T-ball& coach pitch. We are a unique sports league that encourages children with any physical and/or mental disabilities to play the great game of baseball. Participants from Utah County and surrounding areas are invited to play. They play on smaller fields and each child is assisted by a "buddy" (peer friend from the community). One of the greatest things about this league is that it is adaptable to each individuals specific needs. The games have a slower pace and everyone scores and wins!! All games are played in Mapleton City.

The cost is only $15.00, which includes a shirt and hat. Through donations each child will also receive pictures, trophy and a family barbecue.

We had a great 1st season of basketball! I hope everyone who participated had a great time. The younger kids learned how to shoot baskets, dribble the ball and play some one on one with their buddies. The older kids played a real game every week and did a great job, by the end they were really learning how to shoot those baskets and play some great defense! It was so fun watching the kids play and I hopefully you will all be back again next year!

BASKETBALL UPDATE!!!

Basketball will start on January 24th at 10:00 a.m.! We will be playing at the Hobble Creek Elementary School at: 1145 East 1200 North, Mapleton. For those of you who know where we played soccer at the Jr. High it is just east of that school. If you have not registered yet and still wish to play it is not to late, just go on-line or call me and register as soon as possible. We hope to see you all there next week.

Welcome to the VIP Special Needs Sports League blogspot. We are a unique sports league that was created eight years ago to allow children with any physical and/or mental disabilities to be able to play the great game of baseball. This program has continued to grow each year and four years ago we added soccer to our sports league.
Children from all over Utah County and it's surrounding areas come to play and range in age from 5-22.The kids play on smaller fields and each child is assisted by a "buddy," peer friends from the community who assist the players in playing. One of the greatest things about this league is that it is adaptable for each individual's specific needs. The games have a slower pace and everyone scores and wins!
Each child pays $15.00 to play and is given a shirt, hat or socks, pictures, trophy or medal. The reminder of the funds for this program are generated from Mapleton City Recreation and other community and private donations.
On any given day in this league, there are always a lot of smiles from participants, family members, and volunteers!!!
